The Chaplains’ ministry in hospital is not only for people who go to church, who are religious or are believers. Chaplains offer all people (including staff) care and concern.
Being in hospital can be an anxious time for many people, raising many questions. The Chaplaincy Team may be able to help people come to terms with problems and help them through difficult times.
Chaplains are there to comfort, strengthen and reassure.
Where is the service provided from
The Chaplains of the South Tyneside Foundation Trust work throughout South Tyneside District Hospital, Palmer Hospital and Primrose Hospital.
Chaplains can be contacted via the hospital switchboard or by ward staff.

The Hospital Chapel is always open. It is situated on the ground floor of the Ingham Wing near to Alexander’s Restaurant and is well signposted.
The Babies’ Memorial Book is in the Chapel.
