Gateshead Sexual Health Promotion

The Sexual Health Promotion Team operates to provide a range of quality interventions and services to clients, community members, young people and professional colleagues to maintain and improve sexual health in our communities. This helps to reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy in Gateshead.

We offer a variety of services including:

  • Sex and Relationship Education; teaching materials and training development for schools to deliver sex & relationship education
  • Sexual Health Training & Education for Young people, Volunteers and professionals
  • Services for young people, including Forest Schools, C Card scheme,
  • Opportunities for communities in Gateshead to engage with local, national and international campaigns such as World AIDS Day, Sexual Health Awareness week
  • Opportunities to promote better sexual health among the communities

The team come from a variety of backgrounds, and have a wealth of experience in sexual health promotion activities and service delivery.
